Short Barrel (20”) 300WSM Question

Just finished load development on a 21" 300WSM running the Berger 205EH right at 3000 with RL26, ADG brass and Fed 215s. Well under 1 moa at 100 and I hope to stretch it out later this week.

What kind of MV are you getting?

Averaging 2998fps according to my magnetospeed. I should add that's in a Tikka action with the LA bolt stop. OAL is 3.088.

I am also running a 21" barrel 300wsm but with 208eldm. I am only getting 2750fps(which I thought was good) but I am pressured out using 6.5StaBil. That makes your barrel and load seem SUPER fast!!

Are you seeing pressure with that load?

Just now picked this up. Optics going on later tonight. 20", 9 twist. 300WSM

No pressure signs but it's right on the edge according to QL (just under 63K). I think it's part barrel and part RL 26. Barrel and build is a HCA and Mike mentioned his barrel tend to produce a little extra speed but the RL26 which QL shows about 40fps faster than N-560 was actually almost 80fps faster than N560. I did try RL16 which would be the closet powder I have to the Staball 6.5 was not even close to RL 26.

I'd have to look but RL16 was around 100fps slower showing a light ejector hit. My COL is 3.088 so not a true short action.
