Shooting with Waffen Krauser - Munchen double rifle

Very close. I have downloaded Recknagel Catalog 12 and see page 21. Looks close, but I can't really bridge the gap. The rings seem to not have the claw foots on them. Looks like a vary good machine shop needed.

It is frustrating since German technology to mount claws to scopes should have a simple way to get rings that have claw foot on them. There are even extensions where the rear foot can be extended for proper eye relief.

Please download the Katalog 12 and see page 21. How can I work from there? https://www.recknagel.de/en/info-service/catalog/
Trying to read the German/English hurts my brain!

I am reaching out to Kahles and see if they can help.

Please stay with me!
Did you try the second link I posted? They are in the US I think.

The overall problem was that the guns were handmade by elaborate gunsmith work. The claws and scopes were made for individual high end guns, and don't transfer well. I have several guns, but can't swap the scopes between them.

As these guns were made as far back as 1950s and earlier. At the time, the Kahles (Scopes) were the epitome of technology and art. Sadly as technology progressed, the newer scopes will not fit the old mounts.

I have talked with people who can make claw mounts that can fit the older guns, but can cost as much as several thousands of dollars per scope and fit only one gun!

I am hoping to find a claw mount that can sport a Picatinny or Weaver base. NECG has these but it takes a very skilled gunsmith to make something work. The machining is critical as the mounts to bases are critical to maintain zero removal and placement.

There are about several places where it can be done. I find Recknagel https://www.optics-trade.eu/us/recknagel-front-ring-and-foot-for-suhl-claw-mount-30-mm.html (Germany) and NECG https://www.newenglandcustomgun.com/
