Using the old Creedmoor shooting position. That is how it was done back in the day, and a few of us used this instead of prone. It was also used in IHMSA (pistol) for the any position category, for we would lie on our backs with our pistol/revolver barrels pressed against our lower leg.

Or a modified version for some:

Fondly remembered as the 'dead frog' position...

That muzzle blast shield was VERY important! You only forgot that once!
