Shipping Scopes…?’s

I'd like to hear from those who have had shipments lost or damaged to see how the insurance was honored. It is common knowledge among FFL's that none of the shipping companies pay out on insurance claims and will find a reason to not pay or drag it out. Many just self insure, never pay for the insurance and eat the cost when something goes wrong.
UPS delivered a package to the wrong address. Their delivery photo confirmed it wasn't the recipient's house. I provided the delivery photo, a photo of the recipient's house, and an invoice. They paid it pretty quickly without any back and forth. That's obviously much more cut and dry than a damage claim.

If there was an issue shipping scopes and insurance claims, you wouldn't be able to buy scopes from an online retailer.
When you are a large retailer (like Buds) you get contracted shipping with UPS and FedEx. It is nowhere like an individual shipping items. Trust me, there are issues with UPS, FedEx and USPS paying out. I cannot recall which gun related forum it was (could have been this one), but an attorney had posted that he had to send a letter to UPS from his law firm to get paid out. I am on an FFL forum and there are numerous stories there about shippers not paying insurance claims.

So you are incorrect in your assumption but I think most people have never had to make a claim so they assume it will be paid out.
