Shipping an action

Not really sure where to post this but I'm looking at selling an action on here and am wondering how that would work. I just wanna make sure I'm legally shipping the action to the new owner. Thanks

You'll need to ship to an FFL holder, just as if it was a complete rifle.

The buyer will have to get you FFL info for where they want to ship it. Usually pretty easy. They can email you a digital copy of a their license. Buyer usually pays a fee to "transfer" it to them. Around here, it's usually $25.

I always print two copies. One in the box with the action (or rifle) and I keep one.

I always ship from the local UPS hub. The little UPS stores won't take it.

Actually, ATFE doesn't recommend 'giving' a copy of a FFLicense to a non-FFL holder. As a citizen/individual you can send a firearm to any FFL in the country. You will have done your "due diligence" by obtaining the receivers FFL name and address, and the first 3 and the last 5 numbers of their license.. When you have those, go to https://fflezcheck.atf.gov/fflezcheck/ and enter the first 3 and last 5 digits in the appropriate boxes. Click on 'submit', and the site will show the FFL name, and address, and whether the license in valid , or not. IF the site shows the license is valid, you can LEAGALLY ship to that FFL at the address provided on EZ Check. Include a photcopy of your dirvers license in the package so the the FFL can complete his required bound book (Acqusition) Download a copy of the EZ Check for your records. IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS, call the local ATFE office and ask them! State Laws may require you to do more, so check those.
