180 berger hybrid. Elkaholic it is just touching. Not crunching but no rattle when you shake it.

I am hoping to get similar velocities from my 26" with RL26 using Berger 180 VLD hunters. Guess we find out at the end of the month.

Fed 210gmm primers; Peterson 280 AI brass (72 gr h20 estimated); H4831SC 57.6; Berger #30414 190 VLD Seated 0.010" into lands(CBTO = 2.730")

Brass prep: Expand to 8mm...two steps; Size to close bolt with light force...my CBTD was like 2.123", but fired case are more like 2.159"...maybe the false shoulder is not required.

Long term, I'm guessing I can run this at like 65000 psi with formed brass, right? I need to develop that load next.

Kind of weird quoting myself, but wanted the data with this…..
Fireformed from my Brux 1:10 twist, this load gave multiple 0.25" 5 shot groups at 100 yds and 2640fps. Great fireforming load! It does flatten primers, even with a good false shoulder. After firing, primers are backed out 0.001", but pretty flat.

Then for my hunting load:

Fed 210gmm primers; Peterson 280 AI brass (72 gr h20 estimated); R26 66.8; Berger 180 EOL Seated 0.050" of lands(CBTO = 2.675") 3057fps

Sd = 8 for 5rds and accuracy is 0.763"…..I need to keep working on seating depth….would like to get under 0.5", but, may just call it for now and work on the shooter! I kind of think I pulled shot #4 there….not sure.

Anyone have a suggested fire forming load for .338 SS? Using 225 AB and Varget unless another powder might work better?

I've been working on a couple different loads for the 7 Max. All loads are built on ADG brass from Rich, Fed 215 primers, and crimped with a Lee FCD. Here's what I've got so far:

Hammer Hunter 131 grain - 2.945 COAL, 70.7 grains of H4831 SC produced 3,545 FPS with an SD of 6.4, and grouped sub 1/4 MOA.

Berger 180 VLD - 3.157 COAL, 66.2 grains H1000 produced 2,992 FPS with an SD of 7.3 and grouped sub 1/2 MOA.

Berger 195 EOL - 3.10 COAL, 68.5 grains N570 produced 2,925 FPS with an SD of 4.7 and grouped a little under 0.3 MOA.

I gave up on this spreadsheet.
All my data is on this forum. Look up Absolute Hammer Load Data and Hammer Hunter Load Data here on LRH. Data there on 85, 123, 129 plus others.

Are the 6.5 max's that new that nobody has info for it yet? I will be shooting 124 hammers
