I have a Tikka T3X in 6.5 PRC. I bought a new Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x50 to go on it and had issues with it losing zero. Got it back from their warranty service and have decided to replace it.

I hunt whitetail in Alabama and often shoot inside of 200 yards, but might occasionally reach out to 500-600 yards. I've got a budget of about $2k and don't plan on buying for a few months. I also don't mind to buy used if I find a good deal on something. Below is a list of things that I'm looking for in the order of importance:

1. Hold Zero
2. Glass quality & light transmission
3. Quality Turrets that track well
4. Parallax Adjustment
5. Illuminated Reticle
6. Reasonably Lightweight
7. Fairly simple reticle

I'm looking for a FFP or SFP, MOA scope. I've given the NF NX8 4-32x50 F1 MOAR some thought, but wanted to see what everyone else recommends.

If your range is mainly 200 yards and an occasional 5-600 yards, to be honest, you would not need a $2k scope, unless you just want one. At 200, you could use iron sights, I do not know what you are looking for on weight of scope, but if you want lightweight the NF NX8 would be my choice, but at 200yds on hunting, I probably would not spend that much, I would drop down under $1k. Good luck, I am definitely not saying not to buy what you want, I was just going off what you listed, let us know what you decide.

Maven RS 1.2 is a reasonably trim option, good glass, simple. --I own a couple and like the optic.

I have owned a number of LRHS, and the glass is a step down--but dials great, and out of all the Reticle is my favorite to hunt with. You have a good budget and this is way under but it's a trim and serviceable option.

A second focal option but hits all your buttons--I own 2 X5s and they are solid as a rock. Unfortunately not the lightest option but solid.

I like some other options like the Leupold mark 4 and 5 HDs--but don't think you get any more or less than above. I also like s&B polar but some are at your budget or a bit above. I also love my Tangent Theta 315HH but it's crazy money. Any of the above--simple retical, moderately trim, and better than average glass, for under your budget.

Hope you find what your looking for

Yeah, if you are never going to shoot further than that, no need to overbuy - although I am a buy once cry one kinda guy. (kahles scopes on 6 rifles)
If its thick and dark where you hunt, wanna stay with an obj 50mm or above.

Agree with the swaro - the NX8 might be overkill up to 32x - you just had a bad experience with a Leupold but the Mark 4 has tested incredibly well. Very different mechanicals than the VX6

Find a Kahles K624 on clearance or a well cared fo used one and you will never turn back - my 2 cents

Leica Amplus at 1400 would have all the glass you would ever need

Wanna go big - than this might be someting you can go deep on

no experience with Maven, so cannot say
