Scope problems

If my runs out of adjustment and im still not sighted in, what do you guys recommend i do? Its on an older nikon.

If it's elevation you are running out of, you get 20MOA base or rings with the 20MOA built in.

What kind of rings?
Pic rail or one piece mounts?
Windage screw?

Which adjustment and in what direction? How far off are you at 100? What cartridge and what is the maximum range you intend to shoot? What rifle? The answer may be as simple as shiming the rear base.

This is a gun that i worked on for a friend. Its an older remington semi auto 243. Its a weaver style rail now with flathead screws. I dont know much more then that right now. It looked like it may have been 0 moa. It has new leupold medium rings. There's not enough elevation.

You shim the rear, bed the rear with JB weld and make the bedding thinner up front and thicker at the rear, or you can get Burris signature rings with the various thickness inserts to give it some downward cant.

It would be important to know how much more elevation you need. The simplest solution may be to buy Burris Signature rings with the Posi-align insert. Using two sets of 20 inserts you can get close to 40 MOA of adjustment.

This has all been so helpful already, i think i might go buy a new rail just to keep things simple

I hate to add insult to injury but, those pump and semi model Remingtons!!! Oh boy…..

My son recently fixed one similar for a family member. Pump rem 30-06. Nice leupold scope. Was out of elevation about 6 inches low at 100. They had bought a 20 moa rail and mounted it backwards. Normally the mounting holes don't allow it but on this gun they were the same either way. Remounted. 4 shots later it a had a solid 1 inch group with factory ammo

Agree with Keith, Are you certain the rail isn't mounted backward? I'd think it would be obvious, but who knows?
