Scope mount

Hello friends, Just when I think I've seen it all
I took a Leupold in on a trade mounted on a BePR mount. Put it on an AR. Could not get
the thing to zero. Shoot, impact right, correct windage, right again all this off the bench.
Go home take it apart and the previous owner had put electricians tape under the rings. What a mess.! ? Is … have you ever seen such as tape under the rings? Whew!

Maybe the rings where over lapped causing them to be to loose????

Maybe thought it would keep it from twisting. I put silicone drop in mine.
