For me I've always preferred SFP mainly for the unchanging reticle size and I dont shoot any competition, only hunting. I like a simple reticle that's the same size regardless of zoom and easy to see. The Christmas tree style reticle drive me crazy, maybe just my OCD! I also dial for all my long range shots and will be at max zoom anyway. I practice a lot with my custom long range setups, Alamo Precision Rifles, NXS 5.5-22 scopes, and Vortex Fury 5000 with applied ballistics, so I am comfortable with them. I also hunt from close up in East Texas to long range in Wyoming and Colorado. With SFP I get the same reticle size at 100 yards as I do at 800 yards. Has just always been my preference for how I hunt and what is most comfortable for me. With dialing as opposed to hold over, it also allows me to stay centered in the reticle for better follow up shots if needed and if i dont have a spotter with me. I'm not against FFP just never went down that rabbit hole.
