Certainly sounds a lot like what someone would say who sells powder on GunbrokerLet's back up the turnip truck here. This is not price gouging by the seller. It is foolish spending by the buyers. The OP has run out a red herring. The seller set an asking bid below the normal retail price. Buyers chose to drive up the price to outrageous heights. That's all on them. Was the seller supposed to stop the bidding once it reached a "reasonable" limit and complete the sale? Auctions do not work that way. This is not a retailer setting a gouging sale price. And no, I am not involved in any of these transactions.
Not all were auctions starting low, were you not able to make it all the way to the 4th picture in the 1st post? I'll add it again since it was overlooked.
Yes, it's up to the seller to pay what they will. I would never pay those prices myself.
Are these price gouging? Seems like pretty reasonable prices? Capitalism at it's finest? Here's your Red Herring.
