When did they dump it down to 8oz bottles?

I don't know as I have always used black powder prior to now. Everywhere I have checked in the last week is out of stock, but all are showing 8 ounce bottles. Apparently they learned from Hershey candy bars about diminishing the size and increasing the price.
Then again I've been around long enough to remember nickle Hershey chocolate bars.

Its been suggested that there was a limited run of BH made. Hodgdon determined that by reducing the container by 2oz, they could get more into the hands of hunters and competitors.

8 oz bottles at our local Walmart yesterday. $52 per container.
Our woke Walmart doesn't sell guns anymore or powder. Through a stroke of luck I found an LGS 10 miles from me that had 20, 8 ounce containers in stock. $69.99 per container. I swallowed hard and grabbed 2 containers.
