I have a few X-Caliber barrels chambered by different smiths and one from Crown Ridge Barrel Works ...they all shoot great.

I have one of their pre-fits on my .264 WM it shoots well under 1 MOA at 200Y With cheap factory ammo.

Everyone has covered the reason pretty well. Easiest way I have found is barrel nut if original for determining shank size. Hope it works out for you.

I have a 116 Savage in 270WSM.
It is now a 338WSM.
Finding a good stocks is a pain!!
