300 RUM Remington Sendero VSSF

I have a couple of 300 RUM's, one 26" and one 28", and I have run everything from 180 and 200 grain Nosler AB, 210 Bergers, 210 ABLR and 180 Scirocco, and after tweeking their handloads, they have all shot well. However, the 210 ABLR required more work to shoot well. I mostly run Retumbo and RL 26, and the 26" with a 180 AB with 100gr of Retumbo runs @ 3,410 fps. That throat is longer and more worn than my 28", so do not use that data in yours without working up.

Skeeter41……I see that you have few posts.

Thanks. Been a member for awhile. I used to shoot and tinker a lot with loads. Started coaching high school football which takes up way more time than it should so I dont have time to play around anymore. I grab my trusty 300 WM when I need a gun.

My son is headed off to play college football so my time is going to get even more slim.

I ran across this gun at a price I couldn't turn down so I am going to force myself to get back into tinkering. With the cost of powder, primers and bullets I am just looking for a starting point.

I am from central PA.

I had the same rifle, if it's fluted it's probably a Sendero.
I started out with factory ammo, Hornady ELDX 220g, and HSM 180 Berger. Both shot sub MOA repeatably. After starting to handload I went to the Berger 230 OTM or 215 hybrid with Retumbo. Fun rifle and eventually I had it rebarreled to the same caliber.

Just got a barely shot 300 RUM in the Reminton fluted varmint. Some call it the sendero some call it the VSSF. Anyone else have one? Suggestions on what bullets these guns like?
Probably a Sendero.

VSSF is Varmint, Synthetic, Stainless, Fluted. They mostly look the same as a Sendero but short action rounds like .223, 22-250, 17 Remington, etc.

In the morning…..I won't have a clue what you're talking about!

In my defense….I only looked at his post count! I have a very narrow focus! memtb

I have a used factory Remington 700 SPS that I have no history on. Bedded stock, installed a 4" Wyatt's box and a Jewell trigger. Have two loads for the 215 Berger, one at 2955 , another at 3074. Both shoot around .6 MOA with ES of 12 and SD of 6. Lower node is broad and flat.
