SARAH PALIN - My kind of gal!

well, he sure picked a good looking, if not experienced person to run with him - maybe he was hopeing that some of her youthfulness would rub off on him.

What a fool, i mean man, everyone is afraid of his age in office so he picks one of the least experienced people he could find to take his place if his health becomes an issue!! Good looking and great that he picked a woman, but I think he messed up here.

He didn't mess up.

She has alot more experience than Obama, that's for sure & even if something happens to McCain fairly soon, she is a quick study. Obama & Biden combined have ZERO executive experience & Obama has less than 200 working day experience as a Congressman. As an acquaintance of mine in AK. pointed out, she deals alot with Japan, Russia & other nations in that part of the World in Commerce, because AK is isolated from the lower 48, so in many ways it is like governing a country. A Congressman will maybe introduce a bill or two &
vote on several & in the case of Biden/Obama act an A-hole in general, but make NO executive, final decisions. She also ran a business & took on corrupt Republicans & Socialist Demoncraps & won. It would be good to compare her experience with Obama item by item, but I don't think the Socialist Demoncraps would want that.

I agree that this was a good choice. Sarah Palin seems like a real person. Not just a politician. After watching the DEmocratic convention last week I couldn't help but feel sick with that party. Every speaker they had came across fake to me at least.
Now I am not saying that I was a big fan of Mcain himself and I am still not a huge fan but by picking a real person as his running mate I am persuaded more to vote for that ticket than I have been since this election began.

Sarah Palin is a mother of five with a boy in the military, a pregnant underage daughter, an infant with downs syndrome, a husband who worked the north slope and a start as a small town mayor. SHe is a normal human. SHe doesn't have a long life story about how hard it was growing up and how she has overcame the impossible. She comes across as a regular mother trying to do her best for her family with all the struggles we all face.
SHe has not served long enough to be corrupted by big time buisness or to be a member of the political elite. She won my vote last night with her speech and I look forward to the debates to come. I think she might have been just the thing the GOP needed to swing this election.

Very well said, Lucas!! I think you nailed it. She IS one of us....just a regular American that hasn't been corrupted by the good ole boy politics of Democrats and Republicans. What a breath of fresh air for a change!!!

It is so nice to hear everyone talk about PALIN weather on here or on the street she has come acroos as one of us that just whats the best this great country has to offer!!!I look for ward to hearing her speak more!!! and I think what everside your on with her you have to stop a say you know shes right!!

I can tell you all that we are very proud of our Sarah here in Wasilla, Alaska. She is the real deal, the genuine article, a frontier woman, a modern day Teddy Roosevelt.

Did I mention that I was proud to be from Wasilla, Ak? I was before John McCain's VP pick announcement. Now we're even on the map.

For change in the right direction look north, true north, on Nov 4th!

Thanks Hunter, An endorsement like this seals the decision for me!Not that I wasn't already on board. Hometown Hero! That's what I like to hear.

I would have to agree. Watch the Katie Couric interviews and you'll get a taste of the depth of the inexperience on national & international affairs. Who could really be surprised? How McCain or anyone else could expect Ms. Palin to be vastly knowledgable and experienced about anything other than Wasilla or Alaskan politics or business beats me. A small-town City Mayor and the Governor of the least populated State in the Union for less than two years. Even if she's smart as a whip, there's only so much expertise to be learned on this level, and time, of work experience. I'm afraid the debate with Biden will be telling also.

It appears Mr. Biden has made the goofy remarks, but I see you are prepared to ignore those in Lib fashion.

It appears tha M. Obama is your kind of gal, to each his own!

I have to agree Sarah palin is a screw-up. Opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest? What an idiot. Even Bush doesn't support that.

The reality is the people of this country chose people who are more moderate. Obama over Clinton and McCain over Romney & Huckabee. They did this because (and I know I'm going to get flamed for this!) they are tired or both radical right and left wingers. Look at the last senatorial and congressional elections, Democrats won because the party went with more moderate candidates.

If McCain loses he can blame George Bush. Bush really destroyed the republican party. He has the IQ of a peanut. Bush can give a rats *** about gun rights or gay marriage or aborition. He just said what he his voters wanted to hear.

The only people who protect our gun rights are ourselves and, thankfully, insurance companies so when can keep more animals away from cars. If we all had jet packs and helicopters I fear we may have no more guns. (Obviously a joke)

For the record I like McCain and I think Obama will be a disaster. And, of course, I like my right to bear arms. I don't like radical thought in either direction.

But, here is what scares me:

This is a quote from a post from "James Jones" on 2-23-08 on this forum:

"Lets just hope that either Clinton or Obama have good vice poresidents and sombody will take one for the team and take them out of office. I hate to see anybody die but I can't see either one of these people doing any good for the working class american and sadly enough I'd be willing to bet a pile of money that the weak minded "sheepole" of the US are dumb enough to buy into their BS and elect one of these loosers to office."

This guy advocated an assasination on a public forum!!!!!

1. I can't believe he did it.

2. I can't believe not one post commented about it.

3. I can't believe Len did not delete it!

4. I'm pretty sure he mispelled "losers" as "loosers", but was "Vice Poresidents" intentional?

Is this what it means to be a Republican and supporter of the second amendment?

Phorwath, Who do you think he should have picked?

Someone with more experience and credentials than good looks, "Hockey Mom" and lipstick. And being able to see Russia out the back window of her house - that certainly qualifies her for the job!

Experience first and foremost. They can't continue to shield Sarah from the press for 5 more weeks. And it's obviously not working anyway. The danger to the McCain campaign is giving the press access leads to a common understanding of her complete lack of experience and credentials for the Vice Presidency. I think McCain took a gamble and he blew it. He's not going to get the Hillary Clinton votes with Sarah. Tell ya what. Wait five weeks and then you tell me who McCain should have picked. You might feel differently about it then.

I've known of and about her for 3 years and no way does she have vice presidential experience. But she's a new face to most outside of Alaska and maybe you think she's wonder woman.

Who then?light bulb

Who are the candidates you would like to see in YOUR perfect election?

Who do you feel will represent your interests best ?

Anyone?

I wanted Colin Powell for President. Can't say as I had any good candidates for VP. Powell dropped out before he began.
