Salvage a Savage action

There may be times to push the envelope, so to speak, and try to resurrect an action that has been subjected to extreme pressures. After careful consideration, I don't believe this is one of those times. Thanks to all who responded,

Hearing your description of what was necessary to open the bolt, get the empty case out, and what it looked like, I would NOT use that action again. Nor would I let anyone else use it. Chop it.
And count my blessings!!

Which savage action was this? You can depth mic the face to lug abutment in the bolt contact area vs the non contact area and know your exact set back.
It's a 110, but I can't remember letters. It started its life as a 30-06.

Ya, that action won't handle that level of a chambering even without the over load, honestly that was just a flat out bad idea from the word go!! The ONLY savage action that can handle that class chambering is the Lapua action!!
That said .004 isn't horrible and just a clean up pass in the trying jig and that's not an issue, the barrel swelling though could crack the front ring, for the money just scrap the whole mess and take the lesson!!

Yeah, I'm thinking your right. Not a good idea, that combination. And, lots of lessons learned.
