Sako TRG-S - 7.82 Warbird

I'm restocking one in walnut (as almost all my current rifles are synthetic).

Given the bottom metal issues, I was thinking it might be easier to just make it a blind magazine pillar bedded.

Any thoughts on this, or reasons it may or may not work well?
