There has been a few threads recently on using wrong cartridge ammo in wrong rifle and how surreal I get an EMAIL from Hodgdon today referencing this very same concern and link to SAAMI for this document. Since I thought it was a good reference to share based upon the whoops shared, here it is.

It was shot out of a 6.5 creed. I bet it shot 1/4 MOA all's day.

I don't see 30 Cal Mauser pistol listed and don't use 7.62 Tok commercial or surplus, yet too many pple put these hot rounds in C96s and act surprised when they break! Since original 30 cal Mauser is hard to get I pull the bullets from commercial 7.62 Tok (reloadable brass) and reduce the powder to 65%, reseat the bullet and enjoy w/o worries! Surplus Mil 7.62 Tok is hotter still and often have corrosive primers, I don't touch them at all.
