Ruger rpr....not impressed

DXHI - no reason not to try the varget you already have then. Varget was fine for me, I just got better results with the 4064 and newly tested 4166 with the 175 pills. Varget should be great though with the 168s. I think I started at 44 and worked up as I recall but, of course check a manual unless someone has a pet load already dialed up they can share to get you closer.

These were the first 5 out of my 6 Creed after a couple to get it on paper. Factory Hornady 108's. This is a typical group. Pretty good for a $749 chassis gun.

My gen 1 243 Win shoots really well too. I've had several 1/2 MOA 5 shot groups with my reloads at 330 yards. For a Christmas special a couple years ago, I suppose I can't complain.

I have one in 6mm Creedmoor. It makes me look like I know what I'm doing. It's not uncommon for me to run 4 test loads at the cardinal directions of a 1" orange dot using scope clicks to put the group where I want it at 100 yards.

Max is listed as 46 grains, 44 is where a lot of people find good accuracy. My 20" .308 really liked 45.5, shot 168's at 2725.

You can also tune the factory triggers. My Ruger American only went as low as 3.5 pounds. It now goes down to 1.5 ( I can even get it lower) without a problem. Its still perfectly safe to. I tested it and felt bad for the gun because of how hard I beat it. And slammed the bolt home fast and hard. You just have to do the right things to get it like that not hard takes less then 5 minutes. Also there is almost no creep, just about cant feel it that to can be adjusted to be less.

All you need is a fine file and a wire cutters. I think you get the pictures.

But yes there are aftermarket triggers. I will be hard put to buy one after knowing how easy and safe it is to make the factory trigger into a like aftermarket trigger.

I'm definitely with shtrrdy!
It never fails...I have a beautiful rifle finished...and no ammo...customer to be here in less than a day and I'm already too tired...I rush to the reloading grotto to see if I have any FGMM 168 or 175 ammo. It always delivers. I twist all my .30 cal with a 1-10" (like yours)unless otherwise specified by the customer. The last 5-shot I used 168 FGMM on shot a .220 MOA group. 175s do the same thing.

I throw powder to the kernal, weigh things I probably shouldn't and do my absolute best to maintain consistency - but FGMM .308 ammo is my test ammo for .308. Period. If that or a 185 Juggernaut handload with Varget won't shoot when everything is tight/secure?...send that puppy back to Ruger. That rifle should shoot, brother!
