Rifles bought but haven’t shot yet. What ya got!

I have to tell off on myself. When I got that Howa 300 win Mag out of the safe earlier today really hadn't paid much attention to the 3 position safety, I kinda knew they had 3 position. But the other Howas I had were many years back or older Weatherby Vanguards. This gun a month club thing can confuse things lol!

Some cz 455 stainless and a couple marlin stainless rimfires, the cz was discontinued and they always offer less for more when updating. When several were seen on blowout I ordered the three they had left. The marlins were discontinued by Walmart when the bankruptcy occurred and managed four out the door for about 93$ each. All were bought to give to nieces and nephews as they get bigger, so far only one had outgrown the chipmunk into the marlin but I'm ready for the lot and even the brand new ones.

During the random cycles in the gun world since 08, I've definitely had some rifles take a while to get shot.

I just remembered. It had to be 20 years ago. I bought a pre 64 Winchester model 88 in 308. Seems like it was made in 1958. Been in the safe all these years and only got it out a few times to keep it oiled, never shot it. I need to get it out again oil it up. I need to take it to the range too one of these days.

I hate to say, I have an old Parker & Hale 1200 Super in 270Win that, after all these years, I have never fired. Also, many years back, I purchased another custom Kimber 45acp that has never seen a round through it. Then there are 2 shotguns that have set in the safes since the market crash of 2008-2009, and I bought those for maybe 25-30 cents on the dollar from a source that was extremely desperate.

I have a Weatherby Vanguard in .308 that I ordered a few years ago and it's still unfired, but I have an excuse: I found that some factory ammo is so hard to chamber that I'm afraid to shoot it. I think maybe the factory used an older reamer when building it, and its chamber is too tight. I need to return it to Weatherby for a fix before I feel I can safely shoot it.

I'm not above buying something and taking awhile to getting around to shooting. I guess that's what happens when your in the gun a month club!

I guess it's been two years back I ran across a deal. Cabelas had a Howa 300 Win mag that was supposed to have a flaw in the Bronze finish. I can't recall what I paid for it but even though I'm 30 cal mag poor I picked it up. I think they got mixed up, I can't find a thing wrong with the finish. It came with a black Hogue stock without a bedding block which aren't much count. Somebody on here had a Hogue in Gillie green with full length beading block like new for cheap. Hogue with a bedding block aren't half bad. Found a deal on a 30mm tube Vortex scope of some kind. Had Talley rings in drawer. Had my gunsmith buddy thats better with triggers than I am do a trigger job. It's got some kind of accu-trigger, first for me but my gunsmith buddy likes them. Once you take up the slack it breaks clean and light.

I put it in the safe and pretty much forgot it. Dug it out earlier today. Guess I better start working up loads for it. Along with the 280 and the 270 WSM I haven't shot either. Probably more if I looked.

What ya got you haven't shot yet. I bet I'm not the only one.
Crack me up.
