It's paint I believe .I did the engraved markings on my AR with paint use a cue too with some paint thinner or paint remover apply it just n the engraving or you can cover it up with black paint Google how to paint engraved letters

I hate logo's and advertisements on my guns too....it probably is laser etched so I would send it out to be sandblasted then Cerakoted

that's the normal process for sure to blast it but have you ever tried to use acetone to remove the lettering? If you are doing a couple a week could you try to remove one with acetone before blasting it and let us know if it works?

Acetone won't remove what is laser-etched.
