Pipper broke in his new Weatherby 307 MeatEater in a 300WM by dropping this Oregon cow elk with the 163 Hammer HHT running 3245FPS.
He and his brother spotted the herd a mile out. They closed the distance to 682 yards. He taped a 600 yard drop table on his stock. His brother took out a ballistic app. for correction. Shooting prone, bipod, off a bag he anchored this cow elk. Here is his field report, "When time was right, I sent one. Hard hit, she spun around and went down. It was a little farther forward that I wanted as it went right through the shoulder and came out the other side in the edge of the chest. Lungs were mush."
Piper told us he's currently shooting Hammer Bullets in his 223 and 270 and is slowly converting all his rifles to Hammer. Congratulations, thanks for sharing a great hunt, and supporting Hammer Bullets.
