Removing Improperly seated primers

You use the FL die, or neck die, go really slowly and the primers push out. What you don't want to do is try to re-seat them, as the force required may be enough to set them off.
I did that with a hand primer once, noticed unusual resistance and removed the primer tray first to look under the case, saw 2 primers wedged in there, they wouldn't budge, so I went outside and gently squeezes and BOOM, BOTH PRIMERS WENT OFF.
I now only seat ONE primer in the gate, then close the gate….

Cheers.
Thank you for the explanation. Mine was with a hand primer also. I knew it didn't feel right when I started applying pressure, got hung up in the shellholder so had to push it in far enough to get the case free of the holder. Like you, I removed the tray and went outside just in case it went off. Luckily it didn't.

And be sure to wear safety glasses or a face shield when you pop the primer out of the case!

Done a dozen times at least. None of mine went off but Muddyboots told me about safety glasses at amazon.com with readers in them.
Got one for the bench and highly recommend them.
