Common sense says to me that a "custom" made action priced at or near what a "production" action costs makes me wonder how much 'better' the "custom" action can be. Machine tools are price uniformly across the country. Raw materials seem to be priced regionally, the further from the mill or the port, the higher the price. There is a difference in wages for skilled machinists from region to region, but not enough difference to price a "custom" at a "production" price.With the Mac Bro Evo at $575 for a custom that takes remage prefits, I'd have a hard time justifying a short action 700 for a build. Lots of competition these days.
