One time use, unfortunatelyI forget...are the primers for those one time use, or can you reuse them? I was 12 when those rifles came out, and absolutely fascinated by them as I was a gun need ha ha

I think if they introduced a firearm now that was pretty much the same as that, but instead had primers that just worked as conductors to ignite the charge and were reusable, it would sell well. One time use, unfortunately
Invent those reusable primers and you'll be a rich manI think if they introduced a firearm now that was pretty much the same as that, but instead had primers that just worked as conductors to ignite the charge and were reusable, it would sell well.
Cool build sir.
No, you'd put yourself out of business.Invent those reusable primers and you'll be a rich man
That concept has been around for a while. A few decades ago, I read articles on a "muzzle loader" that used a "glow plug" for ignition of the powder charge. Very similar to an old Cox model plane engine glow plug. Then, there was a character who designed one similar to a "stun gun" discharge that was more reliable and faster than the old glow plug.I think if they introduced a firearm now that was pretty much the same as that, but instead had primers that just worked as conductors to ignite the charge and were reusable, it would sell well.

That used electricity?? .........I believe that was a muzzleloader
Yep, a Traditions Vortek StrikerfireThat used electricity?? .........
Way shorter locktime. What is the (theoretical) advantage of this system ?
Safer ?
More accurate ?
More consistent ?
Or ???
Nice, now if it can get converted into using conventional brass cases for smokeless cartridges!Yep, a Traditions Vortek Strikerfire
