I had a Model 600 in 350 Rem Mag and the recoil was so ferocious that I was actually glad when it got stolen. That rifle had recoil similar to a 12 gauge 3.5" shotgun. I can't imagine how ANYONE could actually enjoy shooting it.
I now own a Model 7 Custom Shop in 350 Rem Mag with a removable brake and it has the much coveted Brown Precision camo stock. It's still a ferocious beast but manageable and I can't think of a rifle I'd rather have with me if I was hunting in the forest or brush for large and/or dangerous game, especially if it got up close and personal.
I sold my 375H&H AWR instead of this one because I hunt so rarely for anything bigger than a deer or antelope but until I one day decide I never will hunt large and/or dangerous game again, I suspect it'll still reside in the back of my safe only to be taken out once or twice a year to keep me familiar with it just in case.....

Over the years, I have near exclusively switched to using a Model 600 350 Rem Mag for whitetail and bears in PA.
While in the thick woods, hoofing it up some of the big hills around here, or crawling through mountain laurel or green briar, it is perfection. It hammers all game, it is light, and it is short. I don't think anything of carrying it all day. The 350 Rem Mag is a hammer and is essentially the short action version of the 35 Whelen. I cannot speak highly enough of it - at least for the type of hunting I do.
The $1,500 is pretty high above market. They used to being significantly more, but they aren't any longer.
They don't pop up on the forums too often, but here are some examples from GunBroker (open auctions that really test the waters to see what people are willing to spend at a given moment). There are some examples of a couple that went for more, but those seem exceptions and not the norm.

With all of that said - if y'all could come to an agreeable and fair price, I think it would be a great addition. I personally don't think they recoil anywhere near as bad as people frequently complain about. I love the rifle so much, I've considered picking up a second to tag along as a spare for bear camp to let guys borrow who show up with the wrong cartridge for the activity.

I have one that came from Kalispell, MT. I've shot a couple of deer with it. I guess I'm not recoil sensitive because I enjoy shooting it! I load 180 grain Barnes TTSX & 200 grain Hornady Interlock's.
A friend picked up a Model 7 Custom Kevlar in 350 & I hand load for that with the Barnes 180's. He is recoil sensitive so I shot the gun last year readying it for a Newfoundland moose hunt. Of course, I also own a Tem 700 in 375 H&H and enjoy shooting that too!

They are cool guns and i have been considering buying one for the last several years. I was gifted quite a bit of factory ammo and brass from a family member and have had the itch to put it to use. I think your price guess is spot on, i was going to say 900-1000 for this particular model. I'm actually now considering building a 350rm on a tikka action because I like them so much more than remingtons.

I always wanted one of these when I was in my teens. As I recall my buddy bought the sister cartridge in this rifle which was a 6.5 Rem mag. They were loud, snotty to shout, with quite a recoil. Saw one at a gun show a couple of years ago, should have picked it up. Seemed like a perfect woods gun for anything on the continent.

Of course the haters of the rimmed case would not like it but I would not care>
When I built my first Mtn Rifle Chet Brown was offering stuff for these (Mostly in 308)
Making really light sheep rifles!

I also have a Remington 660 in 6.5mm Rem Mag. It too has seen woods time! The 660 has a 20" barrel & has a smidge of glass bedding in the recoil lug area. It is by far the hardest action to remove from the stock on any of the pile of guns I own!
660 in 6.5 on left; 600 in 350 on right. The 660 had a Redfield 1.75-5 wide field when I first bought it. It now has a Leupold VX3i 2.5-8 on it. The 350 has a Leupold VX2 2-7 on it.

There's a shop in Loma Colorado, Heritage Arms, they make or have replacement parts for the 600 models. I put their bolt release system on mine and say every year I'm going to put a steel floor plate on as well but haven't done it yet.

They are beautiful but they kick like a mule. I mounted a scope on one for my cousin last summer and went to the range and he wanted me to sight it in, I said go ahead. After 10 rounds he had had enough and sold the gun. At 69 and bad shoulders guns with that much recoil are not fun.
That is true, some brutal recoil from the 350 Mag in that little rifle.
