Rem 9 1/2 mag

No. They were brand new brought them home and put them in cases.
Also never had an issue ever in the over 10 years I've had this encore with not firing. Then I load the rem 9 1/2 mag in it and close to half of them don't go off.

Another issue I have heard of with the Contender/Encore platforms is people having light strikes after adding a hammer spur. The weight of the spur is just enough to slow the hammer down to the point that ignition became inconsistent. Couple that with any headspace issue and you can start getting FTF problems.

My concern is that one type of primer caused an issue while other types did not. It may be a gun issue contributing to the ftf but why. As you stated there are issues posted. I would hate to think that the OP has to exclude one type of primer to satisfy the gun. What with finding and then paying for primers being such a pita!!

How are those working for your load now? Any findings noteworthy?
I had to do a "trade" as the store wouldn't take them back. I lost on it but still ended up getting more of a different brand.
I haven't tried yet may try and load up tonight as I had to clean size and trim brass and prime. So maybe get at it tonight hopefully

It's the pro hunter with swivel hammer factory no add ons.

As I mentioned before it has performed flawlessly in the 10+ years I've used it and put a whole box of factory federal ammo down it and at least a couple other boxes worth previously of hand loads without one ftf until rem 9 1/2 some went off and many didn't. 🤷‍♂️

Ya gotta like the brass prep chore...😗 Did you trade them back to the store you bought them from? More is almost always better. Hope it works out! Stay safe and have fun.

No they wouldn't take them.
Went to another place that gladly took them but at a lower price and their primers were much more expensive 2x more and some match were 3X more
