Rem 700 7mm re-barrel advice?

I would say stay with the 7RM if you want to buy only a barrel and a chamber job.
If you move away from that to say a 7mm PRC your price for dies, brass etc. add to that that cost. You have a bunch of options as you will soon hear.
The 7RM is right in the middle of many chamberings that do the same jobs you require.
+1 You have all the brass and I would imagine reloading equipment, I'd just re-barrel it and roll. Get the twist and throat right and let her rip!

My R700 was a 9.25 twist. Definitely need to be at or below 8.5 and as mentioned, if you're looking to shoot heavy 180 and up cup and core or heavier mono bullets consider reaming throat to accommodate. The SAAMI chamber is old school (shallow) and I have to seat deeper in the case. Did not know better back then.

Stay 7mm & pick your preferred flavor. Just make sure to choose the twist rate that supports what you want to semd down the tube. If you reload, then that opens up all the options. I'm a big 7mm fan.

1:8 7 RM will shoot a 140 very fast for explosive coyotes and still shoot up to a 180 Berger for the elk and deer. If it were mine and in fact all of my past 7 rm's were 1:8 at 24-26" and solely shot the 180 hybrid Berger for everything. Put a 180 into a coyote shoulder and it will make big holes if that's what you want, behind the shoulder will get a 1- 1/2" exit on dogs.

As an aside Bugholes.com shows a 1:8 Bartlein 3b contour in stock which would make a killer 7 mag barrel imho.

I'm in the stick with 7mm RM camp. Last I heard Remington had 1-9" twist. Bob Wright's was a 1-9.25" but in any case I'd get a fast twist or at least a 1-9. 1-8.5" or a 1-8" depending on what is available. The bullets I'd focus on would be the 160gr-180gr range.

9.25 twist was the factory barrel. Now mine has an 8.5 Krieger. Mo better!

So you know:

7 Rem Mag with 28" barrel is super accurate in a 9T with 162-168 at 3200, throated a tad longer than the .110 SAAMI freebore. 162's at 3200 is all a guy needs to 1200 yards, 3100 will get you there also.

Wyatts mag box in a 700 is the icing on the cake.
