Reloaded 23 data

I've been struggling to find load data for reloaded 23. I'd like to work up a load for my 280 AI using 160 AB or 162 ELD-X. Any suggestions?

Reloder 23 is similar burn rate to Reloder 22 and H4831. I use it in my .284 Win with 175gr Berger's. I started with H4831 data and worked up.

Just went through this myself, looked through all the forums and the consensus seemed to be to start loads in the mid-50 grains and work up to the high 50's. It actually yielded slightly higher velocities than RL 22 with same charge weights in my 23" barrel.

From what I've found RL 23 loads are about 1 grain less than RL 22 in similar loading like 280 and 7SAUM. That's the route I went, 1 grain less than RL 22 max and backed off 10%. Should be shooting it in the morning.

I'm running into the same thing using RE23 in 6.5cm, 30-06 and 7mmRM. Yes start with re22 and work up also Aliant has more data on their sight of you go to reloading guide and then click on download catilogue. Also this ↓ book has lots of Aliant data can be ordered from the link

Also if you buy Federal Fusion bullets they have RE23 data in the bullet box...

The fusion 175 has data for the 7mag and 7wsm. Not sure if the lighter bullets would have data for 7-08/280/280ai

Also Speer has RE23 data on their website for regular 280rem

Also look at a magnum primer. Just start at the lower charges for a similar weight bullet with the 280 Remington. Do a 10 shot ladder to look for speed and pressure signs. There isn't much data for the Ackley Improved.

The fusion data from Federal has the EXACT same gr wieght for Re22/RE23

Burn rate chart ... RE 23 is between 22 and 25 and you can also N560 data as a close cousin.

Nosler's data that I found for 175gr recently shows RE22 = RE23 (and VV N165 is within 0.5grains albeit slower):

280 AI 140gr with RE22 and N560 ... and IMR 7828 is another close cousin:

You will find similar results in the Nosler data for 150 and 160 grains in 280AI.
