Anyone have 270 load data for the Hammer Hunter? I tried to get it from the website, but it won't take my password.

I have used the Barnes 110 TTSX for kids loads a lot. Mostly elk and deer. No issues at all. A hammer in that weight range would be good, and probably be easier to get a good load developed. I run them around 3300 fps. Farthest elk was 540 yards, my son was 13 at the time.

I think the 120 hornady sst is what Hornady used in their reduced recoil loads. Should work great. Not used that particular bullet but my son shot several animals with the hornady reduced recoil 243 loads and they worked great

Thanks Lou. I have some 120 grain and did some testing with them. Have not done the same in my No.1 but will be. Was getting about 2800 fps with 35 grains of A5744.
