A buddy of mine is trying to get me to join them on a Red Stag and Black Buck hunt next year. The outfitter is Rancho Salvaje Safari in Argentina. There are two options. One is a hunt outside of the ranch operations and is not subject to trophy fees. One is within he ranch operations (low fence) and sounds like it offers a better chance of trophy level game due to nutrition available. It does have trophy fee.

Does anyone have any experience with this outfitter or have other suggestions?

A friend recently got back from this place and had only good things to say:

He said it was such a large amount of high fenced land that it might as well have been wilderness. He got in on some kind of promotion deal during an outdoor show where he killed a trophy stag and a meat stag for $4k, including lodging and meals. I wouldn't expect this to be the norm though. Said lodging was nice but not over the top. Guides and animals were great.

It's going on my list of to-do hunts.

I missed the hunt this time around. So did my buddy due to some health issues popping up. I have always been wanting to chase after the majestic red stag. I can't justify dropping huge $$$$$ to go on a trophy red stag hunt in NZ, but Argentina hunts seem to be much more affordable.
Thanks for the input.
