Red dot vs scope for Raging Hunter

I must be odd man out here. I use Leupold 2X scopes on my Contender barrels. They don't make them anymore, but I have three of them, and that's all I need. I still use open sights on my Blackhawks. I have a hard time keeping a red dot steady. I admit to not trying too hard.

I don't see irons as well as I need to…..but use the red dot for it's small size and lightweight.

For stability: inside of 50 I do pretty well……beyond that, I cheat, I carry the same shooting sticks that I rifle hunt with! memtb

I see this post is almost a year old, but still interesting to read.
I too like the Ultradots. My favorite is the Ultradot Matchdot 2. I like the circle around the center dot. I find the circle makes it faster for me to locate the small center dot.

What sighting device did you go with?

Look for a good leather smith. Or saddle maker. They can make you a holster like you want.

I find my reflex sight to be best out to 100yds vs scopes. I use Holosun 407 on my 629 5". Holster is Diamond D Outdoors.

Over 100, I generally use scopes on like a 30 Herrett.
