Has anyone tried this combo shooting bigger 7mm offerings? I have a 7 1/2" twist to shoot our 177 grain Hammer. So far I've tries 780 Supreme and IMR 7828. Both pressure out to quickly. I'm trying to achieve 3000 fps. Was also thinking the new IMR 4955 might be a viable option.

Brian, I was just able to finally get some some, due to Elkaholic's suggestion. I will be a while before I can get testing done in 280, 280ai and maybe in 7 mag w/162s. I'm having good luck with IMR 7977 in all three, but load is compressed in straight 280.

I found some quick load info posted on noslers forums for it with a couple of the lrabs, I cant remember how I found it probably googled something similar to your post title though

sorry, I just realized what I had found was ql predictions for rl 33

It is better than most and worth trying.

With a longer barrel it may be possible, I get 3000 without pressure signs with a 168 Berger Classic hunter 67g RL26 and 215m in a 23" barrel. At 3100 ejector marks and primer flattening.

With a 28" barrel and 11gs more bullet weight it should be right around 2950-3000fps.

As for RL33 I get 3000fps with a 165 matrix in my 270WSM, RL33 may be better than RL26 for your application.

Thanks, never even thought of RE-33 as a option. We run a lot of that through our magnums but will definitely give it a try. These bullets are driveband bullets so a faster powder than normal is required, hence the reason I was wondering about the RE-26. It has a 28" barrel, so I think 3000 fps is not out of the question.
