Ramshot Grand and 7RM

Hey southpa! Did you get a chance to do any shooting with that 7RM?
I knw you got some winter weather up there. I've been breaking in a 7RM and a 7PRC mostly with H1000, Retumbo, and H4831sc. I also have some Stayball HD and some Grand I would like to work up 168 Berger VLD hunters and Berger 180 Hybrids. Weather here in Nevada is iffy and the wind like to blow too.
I'll keep a close watch and report back when I strike gold! LOL

Hey buddy, best laid plans were to make it out today but we all know how that works out. I have a ladder loaded up and ready to go. If the wind holds back imma try and squeak out tomorow to see how it performs. Will update!

You should hit something good with h1k or tumbo!

Got out today finally. I used the pictures posted by the members above for starting and ending reference. I have loaded for several 7RMs with H1000 and Retumbo. Given that the burn rate of Grand is right in between the two I felt comfortable starting higher. I knew this particular rifles chamber would not pressure at the low end but being this was my first attempt at using this type of powder I was curious at how fast it would hit pressure. Long story short, I'm pretty impressed with velocity. This is a fast barrel so I'm not sure you can expect this type of velocity bit it is within a grain or two of the pressure and velocities with both h1000 and retumbo. I'll try and post the ladders with h1k and retumbo for this rifle as well for comparison.

I had 68-73 grains loaded up in .5 grain increments but stopped where I did because I saw no point in moving forward hahahah 3180fps🤪🤪🤪🤪

Slight ejector marks at 71 grains. I probly could have went up but why? This is the first rifle I've EVER had that hit pressure before book max. Interesting to me.
