Ramblings and Such From Hunting Coyote

I aml ooking forward to Coyotes this fall/winter......gonna run the legs off that CZ .204 giving coyotes some 39 grain SBK indigestion pills and listening to that sickening wet PLOP sound.....that means you hit the jack pot. Nephew from the old country says he is coming out for 5 days..........gonna make some new stories......he shoots a CZ .204 also.

You like sayings like this? Gets the point driven home.

He says "they taste like heaven on earth" and make his wife can make a pie out of them that would make you go home and slap yo' mama.

How about this one?
"It went over your head like a sweater"...............use this one when people do not catch a clue.

GOOD ONE - you probably get to use that line pretty often, Reemty. People nowadays are pretty clueless it seems. To borrow one from an old buddy, they are "dumber than a hundred sheep."

Where is "the old country ?" We don't hear that expression used too much anymore. When I was a kid, it was mostly said as part of another commonly-used phrase ........ "just got off the boat from 'the old country.' " Come to think of it, they often said that about yours truly, whenever I did something dumb ........

CZ's the three I have knowledge on, are drop dead "amazingly accurate" and their trigger is wonderful, about a 3 # pull and if you push the trigger forward it is a 1-1.5# set trigger, very nice. Puts the whack on what ever you put the cross hairs on...............in .204 Ruger......
Old Country: meaning place of your origin, for Reemty it is Germany, but for me its Minnidamsota.....see he was my Great Grandpa.........never heard that name used anywhere else.....Reemty.
I am guessing ol Davey came to Wy-dam-o-ming thru Brigham Youngs people??? ;)🍻
Here is another one Dsheetz.....cleaning that CZ barrel is really easy, whatever lapping process they have seems to work well. Not much ever for copper build up!! 200 rounds thru it about

Reemty , You are the only Reemty I have ever heard of not like the names that have hundreds named the same such as Dave or David . But I like my name . Sheetz Came from the old country ( Germany ) It was spelled differently and looked like a bad word to the people at Ellis Island so they changed the spelling . I had an uncle named Ellis after the Island . Father land has the same meaning but has a little bit of sarcasm attached to it .

original family name was Janssen.....(sauerkraut).....was changed also at Ellis Island........I am 5th generation here.
1st one out West though, all the rest settled in Minnidamsota or I-O-Way and stayed there........

What is your major malfunction is one that works for some one messing up . Did you just go to ground also works for that . Were you born that way or do you have to work at it . I've been around way too many sarcastic people in my life I think some times . My Grandma always said if you walk with the lame you will learn to limp .

Grandma and Grandad told me if you are going to do something I wouldn't be proud of you for don't let anybody know your related to me . Give 8 hours of work for 8 hours of pay or your stealing from your employer was another one I heard from them .

I know that most of you remember when the US pulled all troops out of Viet Nam back in 1975 . The US military also evacuated several hundred thousand Vietnamese people that had worked with the American forces , because those people would have been killed by the Communist forces for having helped the US .
So , in the year of 1975 , approximately 125,000 Vietnamese refugees were moved into the Fort Worth , Texas area , and business owners were asked by the US government to please hire these people , at the minimum wage of that era , and the US would match that minimum wage to the refugee/immigrant , basically giving them an earning of twice the minimum wage . It was a good deal for both the immigrant and the business owner .
These refugees were hard-working , honest , family oriented people who were grateful to be in the USA , and were proud to be working towards becoming citizens of the USA .
I worked with my Dad and his older brother Pete in an automotive repair shop in Fort Worth , and we had numerous customers from S.E. Asia , and ALL of them were wonderful people .

Now , to get to the point of US Immigrations and names .
One of our Vietnamese customers was named Vinavong Phantasonh Ketmani ( and another equally long name that I don't remember ) SMITH !!!
I presume that the person at the immigration office knew that everybody would have trouble with that name , so he became a SMITH .
This might be a reason that there are more Smith names in the phone book than any other names .

I remember it well I left 4/25/75 it was a mess . The U S put a lot of these refugees on some islands un till they could bring them to the states . They hadn't been taught any other way of life then what they grew up with . They scavenged for what they could to live on as well as what the Government gave them . The islands were stripped bare of birds ,animals , fish and plant life before they were brought to various places on the U S main land . Over crowding at it's worst . Oh how it would su!@@# to be a refugee and put in that situation . When they got to the main land they weren't taught our laws and didn't understand the way we lived any more then the majority of the people that lived where they were placed understood their ways . So there were conflicts caused by ignorance of each others way of life being in conflict with all involved . I ran into Trong a few years ago I hadn't seen him since early in April of 75 and figured he was long gone . He was what we called a Yard ( mountain people ) he and his family got out and live in Salt Lake City .

My Uncle Pete was born in August , 1923 , and served in the Army - Air Force during WW2 .
After the war , he began working long hours to make a good living for his wife and family , and had not done any type of hunting since his childhood . In 1967 my dad gave Pete a shotgun , and he went dove hunting with us , his first hunt since 1941 , before WW2 . He really enjoyed the family hunt and in November, 1969 , he accompanied Dad , several of their mutual friends , and me on his very 1st deer hunt .We all went to the friend's lease in the Texas Hill Country , an area with extremely high deer numbers , as well as numerous Javelina pigs . Uncle Pete had purchased a Remington Model 742 , semi-automatic rifle in .30-06 with scope for the hunt .
Tall tower blinds had not become popular for hunting in 1969 , so we all hunted from ground blinds or climbed trees .
On opening morning , Dad drove Pete and me out to our blinds in the pre-dawn darkness .
We first took Pete to the area that we had selected for him , a ground blind that was in a drainage with a flowing creek , that we and our friends considered to be the best area for Uncle Pete to see deer .
I was dropped next , about 1/4 mile from Pete , and Dad then drove back to his blind , which was about 1/4 mile on the opposite side of Pete , so we were in close proximity to Pete in case he were to get a deer .

Just as the morning began to dawn , 30 minutes before sunrise , We heard Uncle Pete shoot , pow , pow ,......pow......pow , pow . 5 shots total , and then silence . Another 5 minutes , and we then heard Uncle Pete yelling for his brother , louder with each word ...... Dean ..... Dean ..... DEAN !!! HELP...HELP...HELP !!!

I unloaded my rifle and took off running toward Uncle Pete , and I heard the jeep engine as Dad drove to him .
Dad and I both arrived at the same time at the blind where we left Pete , but we only found his rifle and coat lying on the ground outside the blind . Then we heard Pete say "Over here" , and about 50 yards upstream and around the bend we saw Uncle Pete , in a tree . We went to him , and before Dad could say a word , Uncle Pete said " The hogs got after me , there must have been over 20 of them , popping their tusks , so I ran ".

Now picture this :
A 6'3" , 260# man in a tree , that the lowest branch was at least 12 feet above the ground .
Dad said "How in H..L did you get up there ?"
Uncle Pete's reply "I jumped and missed the limb , .............. BUT I CAUGHT IT ON THE WAY DOWN" !!!!!!
