Thanks, I would have figured the Speer B was too soft for elk shoulders! I have heard of the Accubond even coming apart up close, but hey, all bullets are "Man Made". Meaning, "subject to failure" at some point. ha I used to load the Speer 165BT for friend's '06 for deer/hogs. I liked the 160 HC in the first 280 AI I had ( just a rechambered Mod 700 Mtn Rifle .280) I also used the older 150 NBT, never made a mess on Mule Deer/Exotics, Antelope. My friend bought the 280AI and killed a cow elk at 60yds (base of neck shot) with the 160HC (2800fps) pass through! In other 7 Mags, I have paired the Speer 160HC/160 Partition (worked up loads/tweaked for each. I shot the Speer for practice/rocks in desert and the NPTs for hunting. Hornady's will work too. I'm surprised no one has mentioned using the Nosler 160 Ballistic Tip in the Rem Mag? It's the beefed up Hunting version ( I think it was made for the 28 Nosler and such?) should be as effective as the AccuBond.
