Anyway, if any one can add some more to the story...I read that a Predator was hovering over and filmed the entire feat, and that the location was not precisely in Irak.

Hello LS300,

I do not think that much more information will be made "public" for some time.
You know....The Government Bureaucracy "thing" lol.... Canadian Team but USA UAV, supporting Iraqi Army.....who controls "classification" type thing :D
As of right now the Canadians do, and have/are showing the video to certain people and entities.

Hello,

"Sintering" it is..:) , more precisely liquid-state sintering in which at least one but not all elements are in a liquid state.

The image posted previously is a 220gr .308 projectile with exact "footprint" of a 190gr .308 projectile. "Density" of these exact ones are 12.8 but this end weight grain is not settled upon since we are still testing the "mixture" so the "density" changes when the % of individual compounds change.

THEIS

Yup, then it's sintering.

12.8 is good. %13 ish increase for the same volume. Great!

That would make a Sierra Matchking 375/350 grain come out at nearly 400 grains. Now that rocks.

Hello,

I have not started on a .375 projectile because my main focus is the .338 projectile. The density numbers on it are crazy good :)
Same footprint as 300gr monolithics but comes in at 377gr weight.
Bruce is getting ready to run a batch of 416B brass, so I am still trying to FINALIZE on modifying a new case off of it or the 585 Orca brass.
I am a weapons system and projectile guy...case design/tweaking is not my strong suite to a point.

Hello,
New 416B brass necked down to .375 should be in Texas this coming Wednesday :)
Next step is trip to General Dynamics for propellant meeting.

Hello,

New test brass...
Soon as tropical storm Harvey departs Houston I will be able to run pressure test to find out what brass can take and see if any tweaks are needed.

Hello,
It is going to be :)
Right now as pictured it is straight 416B brass from Bruce so that we can test the maximum pressures, neck thickness and shoulder thickness.

Does it need to feed from an auto or semi auto?

Hello,

Yes, the second weapons platform I release when BATFE finalizes license issue is going to be a switch barrel, multi caliber semi auto.
First will be new bolt action system to handle the longest of the long cartridge OALs along with extra long barrel tenon to support heavier/longer barrels.

OK.

If it was going to be limited to bolt actions I would have suggested changes. Since there will be an auto loader I would keep the shoulder angle and taper.

I would design 2 different reamers, one for bolt with minimum spec, the other for auto loader with more fudge factor room for dirt.

Of course it will need to be a custom powder formulation. No canister powders are slow enough. I have a friend who has pulled down 20mm Vulcan powder. I believe you will be in that realm.

Hello,
There will for sure be some changes to the final case I have no doubt, but all I am trying to do with this test batch is find maximum pressure the brass can take. After that we will tweak the case design to better achieve what we are wanting to achieve.
YES powder formulation is in the works right now....
Right now we are going to test pressures with 20N29 since it is slower than H50.
