From my range report 12-28-2008:
When Quickload is predicting the velocity well, then I probably have the start pressure correct, and the pressure predictions are then consistent with the threshold of long brass life for the same design case head in other cartridges and rifles.
What does it all mean?
I am using 67.5 gr of Re22 with a 175 gr bullet, and getting low pressure.
Ruger #1 7mm Rem Mag, 26" barrel, With vari X III E 1.75x6 x32, limbsaver recoil pad, wide leather sling, double bungie chord scope lens covers, Ruger rings, condom on muzzle = 10.0 pounds
175 gr Hornady spire point #2850 moly, 3.345", 67.5 gr Re22, Quickload predicts 3003 fps 62.3kpsi
