Predictions for The next rifle caliber/ cartridge trend

Would like to hear your thoughts on what direction you think the next trend for caliber size & cartridge will go. I don't want to start this thread for bashing the 6.5 creedmoor but since it's the latest most popular caliber for new rifle sales among average shooters & hunters, what are predictions for another caliber & cartridge to come that will have as much commerical success as the 6.5 creedmoor? I realize the 6.5cm is here to stay and may take years for something of this commercial popularity to come back around. I know that the 6.5 does have its limitations.
Key points for it's success with the average hunter/shooter:
#1 Most of the time accuracy in many factory rifles with factory ammo is good.
#2 low recoil which is acceptable for all hunters: Elderly, youth, females, etc...
#3 affordable ammunition
#4 many economy priced rifles chambered in 6.5cm
#5 6.5 projectiles high BC( wind bucking capability & efficientcy)
#6 suitable for most commonly hunted medium sized game.

Again I state that this is not a thread for if you like or dislike the 6.5 creedmoor but I'm just using it for a basis of what would bring as much commercial success to a different caliber/ cartridge. I don't want this to turn into 40 pages of bashing or defending the 6.5 creedmoor till death due you part because those post have been done many times and the dead horse has been beat many times over. 6mm doing very well over here, and in the field out performing well with 6 Creedmoor, strong resurrection of 6-284 from 6.5-285, wild cat interest in 6 PRC from necked down 6.5 and 6 Grendel since Its velocity starved —- less interest but also growing with 22 Creedmoor.

22 prc would make the lr varminters take notice. Right this minute though......anything with creemoor after the bullet diameter would make sense to tap into all that advertising the 6.5 has had . Not what your average LRH guy wants to hear, but like was said above, gotta follow the money. The 6.8 creedmoor might be a good candidate to tap into the mania . Especially with the military considering the .277 . If the 6.5 creed will drop elk sized game at 1000 yards , the "much larger" 6.8 creed would drop big browns and moose in the ads ; )

I'm on the 22 Creedmoor bandwagon, ordered a Criterion barrel yesterday, Criterion says 1-7" twist for 95 gr Sierras. I guess I'm kinda .22 queer, I love all things .224.

I'm on the 22 Creedmoor bandwagon, ordered a Criterion barrel yesterday, Criterion says 1-7" twist for 95 gr Sierras. I guess I'm kinda .22 queer, I love all things .224.

I just barreled up A criterion 7 twist 22 creedmoor 26" Northland said all of his 7 twist 22 creedmoor's were throated for 88 & 90gr, I sure 95s will work nicely as well. That combo also shines with rl26

I really like the PRC stuff that is coming out. 6.5PRC and .300PRC. I think there will be more of those types of cartridges.

I think it's time for the 25's to make a comeback. I love to shoot my 257 Ackley. If it where in an updated rifle with a twist to handle heavier bullets and had a new name it could be a big thing. Heavier bullets would have to be developed too.

I would like to see a 270 Something-or-Other shoot the 180 Woodleigh PPSN in the neighborhood of 3000 fps. (With the proper twist rate to stabilize it).

Maybe. But I think it's important to note that factory twist spec'd for this cartridge is 1 in 8.5"

That opens up a lot of options compared to the 270 WSM and win's normal 10 twist

I would love a true short action, Ackley, .338 based off the Lapua bolt face or bigger (Lazz 8.59 Galaxy parent?) designed to mag feed 300g pills.
