Blaming Powder Valley for NOT f'ing their own customers would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.

It seems most here are grateful that PV is one of the companies that has gone above & beyond to support us and the great American shooting sports. But I realize that mileage may vary.

I don't think you understood what I'm saying. PV keeps the price low for "us" the customer, but in return it gives scalpers the ability to screw more people. It's a catch 22. It's not a slight to PV. If you don't understand how that's a "problem" for "us the customer" I can't help you with that.
For every one of "us" that places an order there are 5 or 6 scalpers placing an order. Most of the time for the max or more than the allowable limits, they even covered it in their post, people calling them wanting to be charged 10% more than what they are asking to place $50,000-$100,000 orders monthly.

Until this round of shortages I never bought powder online. Baby, new house, wife lots changed since last time and my stock was lower than normal / non-existent going in. I had some account error issues early on with PV but even with all the demand I got help fast and they got me in business.

And if Powder Valley added a $20 surcharge to every pound it would only hurt us, their regular customers. Scalpers would still buy all they could get and sell it on GB for $150/lb.

Larry Potterfield added about $10 to every box of Berger bullets. Did that deter the scalpers? Absolutely not. And he didn't do it to slow down scalpers anyway. He did it to take full advantage of the national shortage of components. I guesss he isn't rich enough.

No it won't hurt you, because you don't "need" powder, you "want" powder, if it "hurts" you then you should probably not pay for it. Right now even if the $20 increase happened, it would be folds cheaper than buying from a scalper (which people are still doing). The way you deter scalpers is price them at a price point that they will fear being stuck with the product. They understand supply/demand, and once the price rises to the point that people stop buying from distributers, they will also stop buying from scalpers. Then once the inventory builds, the distributers lower the cost back down and the market is healthy. That's how you screw a scalper, Make them pay $100 for a $30 item, and then flood the market, driving the price down to $30.
$10 more for a box of bullets won't stop anyone, I'd pay $10 more for a box right now if I wanted loaded ammo, but that's a deal compared to being out of stock, and I'm not a scalper. I have never sold anything that I've bought for reloading, and I don't buy but a pound at a time most of the time.
If people would just practice some patience everything has started to arrive at LGS again. Seen ammo I haven't seen in a year on the shelf last week, and at $5 more than last year.

I don't think reading comprehension and logic are two of your strong suits. Once gas reaches a certain point you will drive less correct? Your "wants" will subside and your "needs" will arise. If a gas shortage happened, then I'm sure scalpers would be doing the same thing and you would be driving less. You would start walking, and it wouldn't be your first time. I don't care what anyone says nobody "needs" powder right now, they "want" it. If you need to kill animals for food and don't have ammunition, invest in a compound bow and reusable arrows, you could buy a few hundred of them and nobody would fight you or scalp you for them.
That's the logic, that's what you should have gotten from the post, again, I can't help you with that, I thought "wants" and "needs" were elementary ideologies. I don't understand how you go from powder scalpers to gasoline that is sold to you every day by a middle man. I don't know if your idea of "logic" is logically sound.

I'll continue to support Powder Valley and WITHDRAW all my support for scalper Larry Potterfield and his company, MidWay USA. The pandemic showed us one thing; who's with us and who's all out for themselves.

Thought the same thing when today I say he was slinging 28 Nosler Trophy's for $5.00+ a round. Way not to waste the crisis Lawrence.

As a newer reloader I found powder Valley within the last five or six months. I've spent about 1000 bucks with them. They have been my go to and will continue to be my go to. Especially after seeing posts like this. Thumbs up!
