I am running 145 cutting edge lazers at 3010fps. They are so much fun to shoot. H4350 and 145s out of a 20" barrel with a Dominus suppressor feel like a .243.Sure, you can hit 3000fps with a 7 SAUM. ... with a 140gr bullet.
There's almost no way that's the correct powder in a 20in barrel. N560 generally doesn't even finish burning until 20in.N560 hands down. I've loaded it for several short barrels and 180's. Works great in all. Gets the most in velocity for short barrel also but your never gonna hit 3,000 safely for sure
You're not doing something right then. Here is some testing I did for a reference. Had to go find my load data.
20" 1:8.5" 7SAUM
169 HH up to 2857fps max w. RL23
175 Elite up to 2827fps max w. RL23
180 Hyb up to 2802fps max w. H4831SC
180 Hyb up to 2807fps max w. RL23
180 Hyb up to 2831fps max w. RL26
That's the info I was looking for. Thank you Lance. I found a few mics packs of Hammer bullets I will try. If any of you have ran these in these in the SAUM please let me know what your results were. I may have to look at the 150-160 class bullets for this to keep the 3k in sight. Here is some testing I did for a reference. Had to go find my load data.

I'm having good luck with a 180 eldm at 2840 with n555 & 162s were 3020, 21" barrel suppressedI am have a 7saum with a 20in barrel that should be done in 2-3 months. I will be running the Berger 180 Hunting VLD's. I have always used H1000 for my 7mm rifles but they all have at least a 24 or 26 inch barrels. Will I need to move to a faster burning powder to keep the velocity above 3000fps?
Did you lose the primer pockets on the adg brass?I'm running a 7 max, so a 7 saum improved, and throated. I got the 175 eld-x to 2900 with N565 in a 20" Krieger 7.5 twist 4 groove barrel, but adg brass was toast in 3 fireings, it was pretty stout. Now I'm running 170 PVA Cayuga's at 2830 using H1000, and brass should last pretty well. I still think H1000 would be a good option, especially if you hunt in varied environments. Just don't expect 3000 with a 180, it is unlikely to happen safely. Possibly the 155, and especially the 143 Hammer Hunters should get you above 3000 though. I was shooting the 143 at 3250 from a 26" 7 mag, so north of 3k with that should be pretty easy, and the 155 will probably be in the 3k area.

I would definitely skip those .308 166 Hammers....That's the info I was looking for. Thank you Lance. I found a few mics packs of Hammer bullets I will try. What charge did you run with those 162s, min/max? Im looking to try n555 with 145 LRX and 150 Bulldozers.I'm having good luck with a 180 eldm at 2840 with n555 & 162s were 3020, 21" barrel suppressed
