Powder for 7mm Rem Mag

i like rel 26 and the 175 elite hunter, 3050 fps roughly, sd of 12, easy .6 moa load, also 7828 and the 160 accubond at 3100 or so,,,, i have lots of 25 and 22, and 1000 and retumbo, it all needs to go away and simplfy my life,,,

Try H4831 I believe it is/was the powder used for the Sierra Accuracy load for their match bullet in this weight range. It is an extreme powder and should be less affected by ambient temperatures.
Worked well for me-shot a 200-10x in the Leech Cup in my 7 Rem Mag.

With the adg brass I haven't seen any pressure yet with retumbo I'm shooting 165gamechangers Sierra gamechangers with 68.5 retumbo .020 of the lands at about 3075 FPS. Now that's my gun so obviously back off and work up.

I am picking up my new rifle. It is a 7mm Rem Mag built on a trued 700 action with a 24 inch Bartlein #3 flutted with a 1:8 twist, Timney trigger, mounted in a Brown Precision stock. I built this rifle to shoot 160-175 grain bullets ( I like Nosler ). What powders are y'all using for the heavier bullets? Thanks
I would have to agree with the others that said H4831 and win. or fed. primers. that's what I have used for 30 years. H1000 is also good for heavier bullets but I haven't tried it.

I would be very careful with these velocity numbers being posted in the thread. There is a huge difference in a SAAMI chamber 7 Rem Mag and a chamber that is properly throated for 180s. There is a lot of great info here but throat dimensions matter.

Man that is smoken, what is your load with reloader 26. Just curious. I can not get no where near that speed.

I like H4831 as well. Can give excellent accuracy (what you really need), but will not make it the speed demon you crave. Easy powder to find as well.
Could use it to get your baseline accuracy, then try things like H1000, Retumbo, RL26 to see what speed you can get.

Getting very good consistency with IMR Enduron 8133. This powder is made specifically for calibers like the 7Rem Mag.

I don't know how the supply is for VV powder down there yet but I had some real good luck using VV N570 in my 7mm Rem Mag recently. I'm getting 3050fps shooting 180 VLD's. It very consistently holds 1/2 - 3/4 MOA out to 725 yards.
When I purchased some more N570, the owner of the shop said they were getting very good results with VV N565 in the 7mm Rem Mag. I never purchased any to try but it may be another powder option to look at.
