I would be more interested in the throat temperature. Seems like it would tell you more. I can tell you the temperature on my rifle barrels is significantly higher with N570 as it is with H1000 on three shot strings.

If I'm not mistaken, the 500 series Vhit powders are much hotter burning than their others. Some are perceived as barrel burners if you use them alot.

Now I have a duel purpose gun.....barrel burner + flame thrower. Not a total waste.
