Post Your 2016 Deer Season Success Here

I got invited to go out with a buddy for the last day of muzzleloader season. I went with him more or less expecting to not see anything and probably help him drag a deer out. Somehow I managed to not freeze before him and he texted me that he was heading my way. Only a minute later this 4.5 year old 8 point trotted right up in my face. 17 yard shot. This is my first muzzleloader buck in muzzleloader season. I did kill a 10 point once with this muzzleloader but on opening day of rifle season. This buck is a typical 4.5 year buck in my area. Scores MAYBE 105". 15 3/8" inside spread. 5" bases.

He was determined to go. Sucked up that 50 cal double lung shot and hauled it for almost 200 yards.

I finally put together a trip I've been dreaming about for years, and Montana did not disappoint! My buck was taken at 550 yards, rifle is a custom 7/08. Brother in law used my rifle to take his buck at 420 yards. 168 match hunting VLD bullets at 2615 fps.

Awesome bucks! I like your four legged sidekick!

Thank you! I'm really glad I brought him, he had a blast! We were hiking all day and putting on some miles. He couldn't get enough. It was an adventure he won't forget.

Here's my Wyoming 2016 deer. It was 576 yard shot . Not a true long range shot, but still a pretty good poke...

My cousin and I went out and got this monster on the only day he could hunt, a morning before we both worked a 12 hour night shift. He just wanted meat, and I wanted to see if my new rifle would perform...and it surely did ha ha.

We didn't exactly try very hard, we shot him at 925 yards, we stalked him for about 20 yards (to the nearest open patch of ground) after spotting him from the truck ha ha, then drove within 50 yards of him on a 2 track road to pick him up lol. On a scale of 1 to 10, effort on this was about 2....

Very nice shooting! Congratulations.

Thank you. Though this hunt was very easy, it was awesome to see all the work and trigger time I put in on this rifle come together to make something like this possible. Pretty awesome experience, even if it was the smallest deer ever ha ha

Shot my biggest bodied buck this year. He is either 7.5 or maybe 8.5 years old, I've been watching him since 2012. Got him with my new Hells Canyon Speed in 6.5 CM, 123 A0max. one shot flop!

Here's the buck I was fortunate enough and blessed with a couple weeks ago. My best whitetail yet.

It wasn't a long shot by any means, I didn't have the range finder handy but guessed him to be at ~ 175 yards. The 257 WBY and 115 grain Berger did the trick.
