Portable shooting bench recommendations

We used a folding table and a Caldwell adjustable with rear bag.
I have two of these RCBS R.A.S.S. systems. (Rapid Acquisition Shooting System) You can't hardly ever miss unless it is windy. Your rifle sits in place, there is a lever to adjust elevation, then on knob on the front to fine tune. Put them Crosshairs on target and you have have one down. I'm spoiled rotton with these. But they were high dollar and they quit making them ( ) check out this video, I have a couple other systems to use, but this is the cats meow. My shooting buddy has not made it down from Alaska yet. So if anyone want to buddy up, I can meet up with one or two others and will share them. I also have a 4 wheel drive Arctic Cat if it requires where a 2 wheel drive pick up can't go.
If you got a place we can shoot a few thousand give me a jingle!

Check out the ( Spec Rest Shooting Rest ) might have been formally known as Lone Star.
Very good system, but no seat.
Also the ( Ultimate Tripod ) made by Mcfadden machine co.
Blairsville Pa.
I have one of those, and a good friend has a Lone Star, both are very good, but the Ultimate Tripod is much more reasonable.
We use them for long range PA deer hunting.
Not intended to be carried around all day however.
We also use portable benches made mostly from aluminum with adjustable legs and a 1 layer plywood top.
Key for any type rest, be it a bench or a tripod, especially with heavy recoiling guns, is controlling the recoil while keeping the gun on target.
And thats especially important while hunting, due to the target running after a shot.
We use a return to battery setup, the gun rides on bearings or some type of plastic that allows for the gun to slide back and return, without causing any movement of the tripod.

Looks like a knockoff of the RCBS, RASS System Here is a link to the one you're talking about. Still a very nice system

Too bad neither one are no longer available.
Both have great ideas on how to build a quality shooting system I;m guessing the Weight and being somewhat bulky along with a $700 Plus price tag was the downfall.
I really like the Tripod idea. Maybe I'll see if I can convert My RCBS R.A.S.S. system top arm into tripod system for more lightweight and faster set up. I;m here to tell you however, the RASS system will knock them over! Like taking candy away from a baby. If I can find another RASS or even the SPEC-REST I would jump all over it!

Well I'm way late on this one Guys but I see alot of great ideas !
I have spent my hole life as a Carpenter so this is my bench !
Made from 1 sheet of 3/4" CDX plywood .

This is very portable , it comes apart and back together in minutes. Plus It will lay flat in the Truck bed and you can pile all your gear on top of it !
Plus it's set up for right or left hand shooters ...in just minutes.

Oh I forgot to mention, this bench helped me hit my furthest distance to date !
3027 yards , 1.72 miles !
After my Open Heart Surgery it's very painful to lay prone for very long !
