First of all thank you for having such a wonderful forum. I have been reading for several days and I have really enjoyed everyones experience and constructive help of other members.
I have been hunting and shooting for almost 20 years. I am new to all of this long range shooting though. I have been shooting out to 200 - 300 yards at my local gun clubs. I have been having a lot of fun trying to improve my accuracy. I shoot the following: 25-06, 280 rem., 300 WSM and 300 Win mag. I have been spending most of my time shooting my 25-06 and 280 rem. I make several trips a year out west and I really need to practice my long range shooting. I have had opportunities to shot some really nice animals at 500-600 yards but I have not taken the shot because of the lack of practice at those ranges. I am not really interested in a sloppy kill shot on an animal. I am the kind of guy that will pass on an animal if I dont have a solid kill shot.
Do you guys know of any ranges in MN or WI that go out to 500 - 1000 yards? Please let me know if you do. Thanks for the help.
