I've really been wanting to see a side-by-side comparo pic of the 6.5 PRC and the 6.5 Sherman Max. Anyone on here able to contribute to that?

Awesome highdrum. Much appreciated. That Sherman sure is a cool-looking fat sucker. Is that the 125 BD-2 loaded in the PRC? Mind telling me your load medicine and velocity on that? My son is about to try the same thing in his.
Good eye, that is the 125 bd2. I have no data, just loaded em. 56-58.2gr(0.3 gr steps) H1000 seated 25k off. I have 225k freebore in this chamber and the bearing surface is barely above the nk shoulder junction. The bullet shank is very long. Coal is 2.98.

How much difference in m.v. is there between these 2 cartridges when using the same bullet?
I'm thinking around 200 fps in favor of the Sherman Max, but highdrum could better answer that. There's variables of course, so this is a generalization.
Not as much as you'd think. My 6.5 prc and Max are built on Tikka long actions, 26" 8tw barrels. Max a bartlein, prc a mullerworks. I catch pressure in the max with 156s @ 3140fps w/ N570, In the prc 3090fps. My last 26" 6.5saum would go to 3120 before pressure with a 26" benchmark. I think my bartlein is slow, but my shooting partner built a twin to mine, and he sees same performance from his max as mine.

A guy in Wy built one recently and hit pressure at 3250 with a 24" Proof. he runs it at 3155 with great accuracy. His buddy built the exact rifle by the same smith and gets 65' less. thats a Proof for ya though.

Been awhile since being on here, been busy with family and building a new house but I have had great luck with the 125BD last deer season Nov 2020. 650 yards and dropped this doe! Wasn't the best shot placement as there was a right to left wind that I didn't account for. I will be using these from now on for hunting. Oh, rifle used is a WTO barred action 6.5prc, 54.4g Rel23, fed 210m .025tho off lands.

Prc doing around 3155fps with the 125BB. Probably could do more but my brass was showing the prc clicker deal because of the brass not being resized at the base enough so it was giving false pressure signs. My 156eol loads were showing this too at over 2950+fps so I settled on the load around 2900.

I have recently tried the 125 bd2 seated 25k off, H1000 with 210M in my 26" PRC. Ran up to 58.4gr 3200fps w/ no apparent pressure signs. My chamber has been reamed out to eliminate the clicker issue. Accuracy has been quite poor thus far, the only charge that showed any promise was 58.1 with 2 shots at 3/4" at 100y. Perhaps my seating depth is off, but I usually have better luck than this.
