Pet loads for 6.5-284?

My load for the eld-x still needs to be proven by more shooting hope to get that done this weekend but as of right now.

143 eld-x
56-56.5g Retumbo
Lapua brass
CCI Br-2
.033 jump
Velocity was 2966 at 56.5 grains

26 Brux 8.5 twist barrel

Update
I was not getting consistent performance with this load so I decided to retest the load. I first did a jump test starting at .005 off the lands and working out form there In .03 increments to .095 which is as for as I can go before I start to really crunch powder when seating. .095 jump proved to be the winner. I then loaded two separate ladders to test so I could see if I could duplicate the results. started at 55.5 and worked up to 57.3 in .3 gran increments.
with 55.8-56.7 having nearly the same vertical poi at 300 yards. then retested those loads at 600 on steel plate and showed same good results on those loads.
Note that I use 57.5 as a max load in my gun, 58 grains has a real heavy bolt lift and brass flows into ejector.

So new load is
143 ELD-X
56.3 grains Retumbo
.095 jump
lapua brass
cci Br-2 primer

57.5 gr H1000 Berger 140 Lapua Fed 210M 0.015" off = 3030fps in 26" barrel

On a side note I was trying Reloder 26 with CEB 130's and got some ridiculous velocities(3300 range) on a ladder test. It was too hard to shoot in the lightweight rig I was testing but I will try it in another gun. RL 26 is a totally different type of powder if you haven't tried it. In .243 WIN it will push a Berger 105 to 3,400 without pressure.

I am using 52.5 gr of H4831sc, 140 VLD's, Fed M210 primers, Lapua brass, oal 3.422 in a 24" Shilen heavy sporter on a Savage 116 action and consistently get .380 MOA @ 200 yards. I know it's slower than Many others but man is it accurate and consistent.

With the heavier bullets you cannot go wrong with retumbo in my opinion. I am currently shooting the 147 with 55.4 grains of retumbo. My smith shoots 140s with 57-58 grains of retumbo. I am also experimenting with RL-26 at the moment. You need a slow powder to see the high potential of this great cartridge. I know of people using h4831sc, RL-23, H1000, and Retumbo. The RL-26 is for my leisure. I would be happy to answer any questions.

Have you tried working up? From my experience there should be another node that would give you higher velocity. If you are satisfied with your velocity numbers then please do what fits you best.
I've tried, unfortunately when I had my rifle chambered the gunsmith went with saami specs so 2.96 is my absolute max without a hard bolt lift. And I'm compressed already. If I could load out to 3.4oal it would be awesome. Right now I'm at 2800fps. Was hoping for that 2950 mark

Remington action...25" shilen light contour barrel...
.75 moa @ 100..RL26...55.8gr....142 lrab...lapua brass...3.15oal...210fedgm.....
epupfps...12es..4sd....slight bolt lift....dropped back to 55gr shooting 2980fps...20es..12sd....
Not as tite but haven't messed around with depth enough to make it better...

You could ream the throat a bit longer, no ?

So you are technically shooting a 6.5-284 Winchester, not the 6.5-284 Norma. Got it! Thats too bad, that is really hindering performance.
