Pet load for 22-250

With a Ruger M77Mark II 1:12 twist 22 inch barrel using once fired brass I just neck size the brass if it's fired more then once I set the shoulder back .002 running a 60 gr SPBT I like 32.5 gr Varget with a winchester WSR primer . In a Smith and Wesson 1:12 twist 22 inch barrel running 55 grain Sierra HPBT's I like the same powder , charge and primers . I have also been known to use IMR 4350 for the 55 and 60 grn bullets running them around 3200 fps mv

55 vmax wouldn't stabilize in my 1-14" twist. I doubt 53 vmax will either. I believe you need atleast 1'12" twist.

If the OP gets a 1-8" then he'll have no trouble with the 55 gr. I had 50 gr vmax keyhole in my 1-14". Some work, some won't. i wouldn't be telling someone to load a bunch in a 1-14". Best of luck!

Loading ammo is enjoyable for most of us . There are so many variables that will make or break rounds we load . To error on the side of caution and start with mid range loads is one of my rules that I follow religiously .
