If you're ONLY hunt with it and no long range (800+), your options are wide open - sporter barrel or larger. If you're wanting to also plink LR go for the heavier or fluted barrels. Love my Savage BA 10/110 - it's a shooter.

Yes, this would exclusively be an eastern woods whitetail gun. Typically sub 100 yards shots, with the max out to 300 yards in these hunting conditions.
